My work is a synergy of abstract and bright, vivid colour art. My name is Tina Fletcher. I live in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, I aspire to create artwork that brings joy to a person home or office and adds a little brightness and colours where needed. My first experience as an artist was when I drew Richie Rich at eight years old and then, at 11 years old, won a statewide school competition for artwork depicting a house in a field. Influences that had the greatest impact on me were my amazing art teacher in high school and artists such as John Beckley, Iris Scott and Deniz Altug, and the Famous Artist's Vincent Van Gogh and Pro Hart. While I didn't go into fine art, I did pursue my career first as a graphic artist and then as a web designer, and I raised my five children. I love this side of art but knew when the time was right. I would move into painting. Over the years, I painted with watercolours and landscapes but have now found myself loving acrylics and abstracts, which is my current focus. While my artist training wasn't formal, I believe that having a grounding in graphic art allows me an excellent grounding for form and composition. So now I use that along with the joy of experimenting and learning through trial and error. I am now evolving as an artist, and every day, I paint a daily painting that allows me to challenge my art style and expand my knowledge and learn from other artists, taking their courses. Currently, I work primarily in acrylic on canvas, both stretched and unstretched and work from my studio in Brisbane, Australia.
